29.Jun.26 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Dept of Instrumentation & USIC The Ninth School on System Design Using Microcontroller will be organised by the Department of Instrumentation & USIC, Gauhati University from 29 June - 04 July 2026 Objectives Embedded Systems & IoT Mastery: Provide a comprehensive understanding of microcontroller architectures, fundamentals, and applications of embedded systems, and develop skills to design and implement them effectively. IoT Concepts and Applications: Teach the concepts and applications of the Internet of Things (IoT), including programming open-source IoT platforms for real-world IoT projects. Hands-On Practical Skills: Offer practical experience in building and testing circuits using CRO, DSO, function generators, antennas, and other instruments. 3D Printing Skills: Enable students to design and fabricate models using 3D printers, providing hands-on experience from creating digital designs to producing physical objects. Signal Conditioning and Data Acquisition: Instruct on designing and implementing signal conditioning circuits using operational amplifiers (OpAmps) for various sensors. Project Development: Guide students through the complete project development cycle, from conceptualization to implementation of microcontroller-based data acquisition systems. Skill Enhancement: Improve coding skills in C, and gain proficiency in PCB design and power supply fabrication. Industry and Academic Preparation: Acquaint students with the latest trends in embedded systems and IoT, preparing them for future studies and research in instrumentation, electronics, and computer science. Target Groups 2nd, 4th and 6th semester appeared students majoring in Physics, Electronics, and Computer Science. End-semester post-graduate students and research scholars in related fields. This workshop covers several key topics from the 3rd and 5th semester BSc syllabus, ensuring you're well-prepared for both exams and real-world applications through a practical, immersive experience. Outcomes Embedded Systems Knowledge: Gain a thorough understanding of microcontroller architectures and embedded systems. Complete the full cycle of microcontroller-based project development. IoT Skills: Learn to design and implement IoT projects using open-source IoT platforms. Practical Circuit Experience: Build and test electronic circuits using various instruments. Signal Conditioning Expertise: Develop and implement signal conditioning circuits for various sensors. Coding and PCB Design Skills: Enhance coding skills in C and proficiency in PCB design. Don't Miss Out! Seize this unique opportunity to gain practical experience and enhance your academic success.
